My name is Hans Shaffer. I have been Chris' close friend since we were teenagers. Chris has not done the things that his ex has accused him of. I cannot understand why she continues to throw up false accusations, one after another, in an effort to keep him from seeing his children. Chris loves his boys dearly and wants nothing more than to spend time with them, to be the part of their lives that a father should be for his children. He is not trying to get them from Heidi and keep them from her, he just wants to be a father to his kids.

Continuing health issues from a broken neck he suffered in an auto accident several years ago keep Chris from being able to advance in his trade as a carpenter, yet if he starts another career field, and takes the resulting pay-cut to start over again at the bottom, the Washington State courts will still hold him accountable for the same amount of child support. Never mind that fact that the combined income of his ex and her husband exceeds $100k and he is in a constant struggle to make even the most humble of ends meet...now add to that the cost of an attorney and now the cost of a court-appointed investigation that can finally make things right.

I hope that you will take the time and give what you can to help. Chris is a good man doing his best in a dire situation.

I can't believe it!

So, it seems that Heidi (Chris's ex wife) is able to get away with just about anything she wants. How the courts don't see her for what she is/does is completely beyond me!

Some background...I have know Chris and Molly for years. Chris and I grew up together, and I have know his family since I was 8 years old. Molly and I were friends when we were in high school. After now getting married and having our own families we ended up living in the same little town! It's a small world!

Anyway - it seems as if now that Heidi has accused Chris (falsely of course!) yet again, we have limited time to band togehter and raise almost 8,000 dollars for a court investigation. I can't believe that she gets away with the crap she does! Makes me wonder if she'll ever get more than a hand slap in this whole mess.

Chris is one of the greatest dads ever. his kids think he's the greatest and hate not being with him. All you have to do is see him with his kids and its clear where they belong. This investigation gives the boys a voice for the first time. So - if any of you out there feel like giving to a great cause - a great guy that LOVES and MISSES his kids, and is getting completly screwed by his ex - we're accepting any help we can get! Even if it's only a few bucks (everything helps!!)
